Ok, with most of my projects in the JA underway hardwired and myself will be turning our efforts onto the Archives and have a range of ideas instore. We thank all those involved in the creation of the archives and will envdevor to ensure that their efforts were not in vain. It just goes to show what a truly amazing community this is :)

In all honestly, theaurochs.net isn't a proper place for the Archives to live. It needs to be under the umbrella of a major JK3 community. That would basically mean either JK3Files.com or The Jedi Academy. Discuss!

Tido: Removed "Often spammed by lamers". This is an incorrect assumption as the Butterfly is a legit move and the only person to be faulted is the fool who cannot avoid it, not the user himself.

Dual lightsabers are a new edition for [[JKA]]. As seen in the movies, a Jedi wields two [[lightsaber]]s at the same time, one in each hand. The Jedi also has the option of shutting down one blade and using only one, but only in [[Blue stance|blue stance]] and without the blue kata.

Apart from Wolfwood, early [[yellow stance]] influences came from [[Dante Valmont]], [[Virtue]], [[Luke Skywalker]], and [[Jaiko D'kana]]. Tido began primarily as a red stancer like most Academy students but kept a strong interest in learning yellow techniques.

As time passed, Tido improved greatly under Wolfwood's instruction and from the influence of many Academy fighters. By the summer of 2004, he was noticed not only by the Academy staff but by fellow students as well. Tido was one of the most recommended knight prospects by his peers in the JA.

===Becoming a Knight===
Because of his great attitude and skill, Tido was trialed and promoted to the rank of [[Jedi Academy Knight|Jedi Knight]] on August 31st, 2004. He immediately started helping as an assistant teacher and covered many classes at the Academy.

He no longer works on the Radio Show, but the Show is still going strong!
*JA Map Project: USA Division
**Tido made a Map where Jedi Academy Members that lived in the USA could place their name on, so that people could see where all those crazy Yankees actually lived. Others started making Maps for the European, Australian and Asian Members.
*The Fall Open (Double Elimination Tournament)
**Tido held a small Double Elimination Tournament, called 'The Fall Open', back in 2004 with both [[full-force|Full-Force]] and [[no-force|No-Force]] matches, that Members could sign up for. The winner of the Full-Force section of the Tournament was [[Gradius]], Sauce won the No-Force section.
*JA Christmas Show
**Tido thought it'd be fun to have JA Members make some Christmas tracks that would be played on the JA Radio. Multiple people entered submissions, and even though it wasn't exactly released during Christmas, everyone still got to hear the tracks!

Hey bro! Hope things are cool with ya. I've read somewhere that Dutch handles these things differently, so there might be some confusion. With a title, you only capitalize the title when it is used with the name or object. For example: Professor Tido Kenobi and Doctor D@RtHM@UL. However you never capitalize a title by itself as it is now just a regular noun. Example: I talked to my professor today about what my doctor told me. Peace!

A padawan is someone who has an official master. Any [[Jedi Academy Knight]] or above can take on official padawans. He is to receive tutoring in the way of either one-on-one sessions, or padawan classes held by the higher ranking Jedi and attended by his apprentices.

== How to become a padawan? ==

Those who were found touched by the Force and want to improve in it can choose to travel the Jedi Academy to receive proper training. [[Jedi Academy Knight]]s and above are allowed to take on official [[padawan]]s. Their is no maximum amount of padawans a Knight (or above) may have, however, most knights only take on so many at once.
The advantage of having a master, is that you can attend padawan sessions, and get 1 on 1 training from that person, this is especially useful when you cannot attend classes.

A yellow-purist is a fighter who specializes in [[yellow stance|yellow stance]] and uses it nearly exclusively. In [[Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast]] and early in the life of [[Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy]], yellow purists were fairly common. Today, most yellow-purists are european members of the [[Jedi Academy]] where older purist [[Jedi Academy Trainer|instructors]] have passed on their style to newer [[Jedi Academy Student|students]]. Purists outside of the Academy are very rare. However, yellow-purists are coming back in numbers because of the popularity of the [[Jedi Academy Plus|JA+]] mod's modified damage system called "[[multi-player damages]]". MP damages give yellow stance a significant advantage. Some of the Academy's best fighters are yellow-purists, but competitive JKA hasn't featured a leading yellow-purist in years.

===Breaking Down The Style===
Because of the nature of [[yellow stance|yellow stance]], yellow-purists are forced to be excellent in [[movement]]. It is considered by many experienced players that yellow-purists aren't actually students of the [[Lightsaber|saber]] nearly as much as they are students of movement. They also typically stay on the ground and rarely do offensive [[aerials]] or counter aerials. Nearly all yellow-purists rely on a style that is defensive in nature and is heavily [[counter]] based. A lot of emphasis is put on manipulation both with the saber and movement to provoke the opponent into making a tatical mistake. Advanced yellow-purists will put a lot of practice into understanding how saber collisions work in JK:JA and attempt to utilize [[parries]].

Electro Binoculars are used to magnify distant objects. They are powered by [[Battery Pack|battery cells]] and drain power at a minimal rate. In [[Single Player]], the [[primary fire]] and [[secondary fire]] keys zoom the binoculars in and out. In [[Multiplayer]], the binoculars only provide a slight magnification. While the binoculars are good for seeing enemies from far away, weapons cannot be fired while looking through them. An interesting fact about the Electro Binoculars is they display your in-game [[yaw]] direction at the bottom of the screen.

Tido keeps himself in shape by competing in [[Team Free For All|TFFA]] matches against [[Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy|JK:JA]] clans under the green and white banner of [[Jedi Academy Aurochs|The Jedi Academy Aurochs]].
He played a very big role in getting the Aurochs back on track in October 2004, after the Aurochs had fallen into inactivity because [[Jedi Academy Master|Jedi Master]] [[Jaiko D'Kana]], an [[Jedi Academy Trainer|Instructor]] back than, was unable to keep the Aurochs together because of Real Life- and internet connection issues.

He is still an Aurochs Member up to this very day and is still doing a lot of work as the Aurochs Team Tech, and as the Administrator of the [http://aurochs.thejediacademy.net/forums/index.php Aurochs Website] and [http://archives.theaurochs.net/index.php/Main_Page Aurochs Wiki].

===Miscellaneous Projects===

Tido has done a lot for the Jedi Academy, some of the things he's worked on are:

*JA Radio Show
**Tido was the one that came up with the idea of creating a very own Radio Show for the Jedi Academy! He got people to sign up as DJ's, made a schedule of the times when the Radio Show would be on, and indicated what DJ would be playing what music. He no longer works on the Radio Show, but the Show is still going strong!
*JA Map Project: USA Division
**Tido made a Map where Jedi Academy Members that lived in the USA could place their name on, so that people could see where all those crazy Yankees actually lived. Others started making Maps for the European, Australian and Asian Members.
*The Fall Open (Double Elimination Tournament)
**Tido held a small Double Elimination Tournament, called 'The Fall Open', back in 2004 with both [[full-force|Full-Force]] and [[no-force|No-Force]] matches, that Members could sign up for. The winner of the Full-Force section of the Tournament was [[Gradius]], Sauce won the No-Force section.
*JA Christmas Show
**Tido thought it'd be fun to have JA Members make some Christmas tracks that would be played on the JA Radio. Multiple people entered submissions, and even though it wasn't exactly released during Christmas, everyone still got to hear the tracks!

A Crosshair is the symbol in the center of the screen used for aiming. [[Weapon|Weapons]] fire at the point where the crosshair is directed. Focusing the crosshair on a specific person will make his or her name appear on the screen. Clan KoP was founded in December 2003 by souL and Carth.

It grew over the course of 2004 reaching a maximum of about 20 members.

Sublime, long standing second in command to souL, became the leader of KoP in March 04, souL quit jka.

Dispite the clan's roots in the dual saber type, it flourished under sublime acquiring very talented single and dual saberists.

Eventually plagued by rapid growth the clan fractured into factions in late 04 and subsequently died when Sublime quit.

souL returned to JKA in 2005 and KoP was "reborn," with many of the original members returning, including Sublime and Dark_Knight, its two most famous members.

The rebirth was short lived and the more talented players all quit again shortly after souL once again disappeared.

Some of the lower quality players stayed in the clan and it subsequently became a "nub" clan, recruiting players that would never have made it into the original clan.

This mockery continued until late 2005 when the clan was laid to rest once more.

KoP is remembered for its contribution to Dual Sabers. Dark_Knight and Sublime gained the respect of an otherwise anti-dual community. Between them they pushed KoP to the highest level of play BWN had to offer. Most any dual saberist worth remembering to this day has taken some portion of his style from either DK or Sub, and as a result KoP has gained a cult following by lesser dualists, hoping to walk in the original dualies path.

The [[Jedi Academy Plus|JA+]] mod has a client-side option that can be downloaded to give extra features to a player on the mod, but is not required to join the server.

===Maps and Skins===
To join a server, a player must have the map that the server is currently running in his or her base folder. Players do not need all the skins that are on the server to play on the server. In a pure server, players can only use their custom skins if the server also has them. In impure servers, players can use any of their custom skins. When another player is wearing a skin that the user doesn't have downloaded, the user will see them as Kyle Katarn.

===Auto-Downloading===
Some servers allow automatic-downloading, meaning that a player can download files directly from the server if he or she has auto-downloading enabled in the setup menu. Auto-downloading is slow and can lag the server, which is why most servers do not allow it. If a player has auto-downloading enabled, he or she will download every file on the server, even ones that aren't necessary to play there.

**They have full Admin Access on the Servers, and are allowed/required to teach [[Classes]]

**A honorary JAT rank, earned for doing a lot for the Jedi Academy
*[[Jedi Academy Council]] (JAC)
**'Leaders' of the Jedi Academy, they have the final vote in every matter, and deal with everything from Server/Website maintenance to dealing with Members that break the Rules
