Downside is a student at the JA who is known for being kind and helping out newer members even though he is not an instructor. Downside wields a standard saber and fights in the Hybrid style. He is also noted for having created his own fighting style called Via Aer which is Latin for "Way of the Air", this combines the Hybrid style with tricky and affective aerial moves. Downside is more or less not a ground fighter.
