Hybrid

Term used for the fighting style that combines the use of red, yellow, and blue stances with the single saber. Many JKA fighters use a hybrid style to keep variety in their fighting. The goal is to blend the stances together to decrease the ability to predict changes in style or tactics. In addition, hybrid style fighting utilizes the many strengths of the three stances and incorporates them into one. It is a departure from the classic Yellow-Purists and Red-Purists styles that were predominant in earlier days.
